This course includes curriculum development, teaching stategies, administrative record keeping and how to build long-term retention of student material. Mentoring is available for the "life" of the new instuctors career as an instructor. It's fun, cost-effective and thorough.
American Heart Association instructors teach lifesaving CPR, AED and First Aid courses for the community. Typically, AHA instructor certifications are best utilized by those who will be teaching CPR to those in the medical field.
AHA Instructors have the ability to teach:
BLS for the Healthcare Provider
Heartsaver CPR/AED
Heartsaver First Aid (CPR/AED)
Heartsaver First Aid/CPR
CPR for Friends and Family
General Requirements:
1. A current AHA provider card for the course you wish to teach
2. A letter of recommendation to be an instructor from an affiliate/regional or course faculty member (not required for Heartsaver)
3. Letter from a Training Center Coordinator indicating that the TC will accept you as an instructor
4. Willingness to teach the scientific and program guidelines of the American Heart Association
5. Commitment to teach two courses per year according to AHA guidelines
