ICE Safety Student Saves Son!
Daniel, an employee of TRC of Concord, CA, recently had to use the skills he learned in his CPR/First Aid class in a real life emergency. Daniel was working upstairs at home when his 3 year old son ran into the house shouting that his 1 year old brother had fallen into the swimming pool and had drowned. Upon hearing this, his 16 year old daughter ran outside and jumped into the pool to rescue him. Not knowing what to do, his daughter began to panic. Daniel then ran outside and took his son from his daughter. He directed his daughter to call 911 and to wait outside for the ambulance. Daniel remembered the tips that ICE Safety had taught him regarding how to perform correct CPR, and began CPR on his son. Water began to come out of his son's mouth, and soon after EMS arrived.
Daniel's son has since been discharged from the hospital expected to make a full recovery. Thank you Daniel for sharing your story.
