Spill Prevention & Control

A Facility Response Plan (FRP) demonstrates a facility's preparedness to respond to a worst case chemical spill discharge. Under the Clean Water Act, as amended by the Oil Pollution Act, certain facilities that store and use oil/chemicals are required to prepare and submit these plans. Training will involve how to prevent or reduce the discharge of pollutants to drainage systems or watercourses from leaks and spills, reducing the chance for spills, stopping the source of spills, containing and cleaning up spills, properly disposing of spill materials. Best management practice will cover spill prevention and control.
